Club Ohio Dayton announces Shane Smith as Staff & Juniors Trainer
DAYTON, Ohio, May 6, 2020 - Club Ohio is very excited to announce the addition of Shane Smith to our staff. Shane will serve as a staff trainer for our Dayton location. We are looking forward to Shane being involved in the club training sessions we are offering for our 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 boys and girls team in addition to training in the Juniors program.
Shane has over 10 years of coaching experience, where he is the current Academy Director for the CUSA Soccer out of Centerville. He played collegiate soccer for the University of Mobile and professional soccer for Alamo City Warriors (Professional Arena Soccer League), Houston Leones (USL PDL), and the Dutch Lions (USL Pro).
Club Ohio Dayton DOC Tommy Spijkers is very happy with the addition of Shane to the Dayton staff: “Shane is a proven top-level coach and overall great person. We have known each other for almost 10 years and from this personal experience I know our Club Ohio players will benefit greatly from having Shane with our club. He will be joining the already impressive Club Ohio Dayton coaching staff, which I feel provides the best development environment for youth soccer players in the Dayton area. ”
Shane is very excited to get started with Club Ohio: “I’m grateful for the opportunity at Club Ohio and excited for my new role as staff trainer! I am passionate about training on the soccer field and truly believe development starts at the youngest ages! Every training session I try to help players become more technically & tactically confident on the field and I always strive to have a positive impact with the players! Club Ohio Dayton Director Sandy Poole has done a fantastic job leading Club Ohio, and with Tommy coming on board as the Director of Coaching I feel confident Club Ohio will be offering players a great program. I am excited to join the training staff and look forward to meeting all of the Club Ohio players, families, and coaches!”
